Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti Spring-Summer 2013 RTW

Mood/style: elegant and ladylike, the collection that Alberta Ferretti has designed for Philosophy depicts a sophisticated woman that loves a feminine, timeless, controlled, and refined style. But its bourgeois and proper appearance perhaps hides a more surprising side. The aristocratic Grace Kelly allure lets a more disturbing aspect come through, one that is ready to experiment with contrasts and curious about anything that is prohibited. Like burning ice, like a flame that smolders under ashes, like the most sensual cashmere, veiled by layers of algid vinyl, embroidered in metal studs.

Lengths: knee-length skirts

Colors: ivory, butter, caramel, ice

Shapes: subtle and elegant silhouettes. Body-fitting dresses designed with precision. Essential raw edged coats with belts to emphasize the waistline. Little jackets that are fitted at the waist are worn with knee-length pencil skirts. Organza blouses with embroidered collars accompany straight pleated skirts. A mix of contrasting fabrics: cady and astrakhan covered in studded and embroidered vinyl, felted tweed with cashmere, craquelé patent leather that is as soft as cloth

Fabrics: cashmere and felted tweed, cady, astrakhan, craquelé patent leather, vinyl, organza

Accessories: pumps in vinyl or in tweed and silver nappa with stiletto heels; stiff, flat clutches in silver nappa.
