The house does a pretty, romantic dress like no other but, perfectly understandably, sometimes tries to do something a little different, especially where the Philosophy diffusion line is concerned. This spring show was a lesson in why we love the label.
Just three looks weren't dresses, focusing predominantly on Gatsbyesque drop-waist-ed, three-quarter length beaded tulle and chiffon gowns. The Nirvana soundtrack lent it a 90s grunge feel which modernized the prettiness, especially when layered with silver threaded cable-knit cardigans, and gave it a relevance beyond sometime occasion-wear. Styled in the right hands this perfectly encapsulates the Kate Moss bias-cut grunge era that is still so coveted.
